Congratulations to our Spring 50/50 Winner!
The Brant County SPCA is proud to announce Michael Smith as the winner of the Spring 50/50 fundraiser (License # RAF1507014). The raffle spanned from March 2nd to April 30th and generated a total of $23,540. Smith’s ticket D-15831 was drawn on May 1st and he will be walking away with an incredible $11,770.
Tickets were offered at 1 for $10, 4 for $20, 20 for $50 and 100 for $100, encouraging the community to participate at whatever level they could. 506 total tickets were sold, and the success of this fundraiser made waves at the shelter.
“Funds generated from our 50/50 raffles go towards our greatest shelter needs, ensuring that animals receive the proper care and support while they’re with us” Lana Lang Nagle, Executive Director.
After seeing so much success with the Spring 50/50, the Brant County SPCA is hoping their next raffle will drum up even more donations. “We are looking forward to a Fall 50/50 that will start on September 1st and end September 30th. We have such an incredible community that seem to band together whenever we need them, and this is a great way to raise money while also offering them a little something in return” – Lang Nagle.
Smith, a long-time supporter and adopter of the Brant County SPCA, joined Lang Nagle at the shelter to receive his check this week. “I had already purchased my tickets, but then I got an email [from the Brant County SPCA] letting me know there were only hours left until the draw. I decided to get some more and the winning ticket happened to be in that bunch” Smith commented.
When asked if he had any plans for his winnings, Smith indicated that he will be using the funds to save, buy his mother a gift, and donate a portion back to the Brant County SPCA along with other organizations.
