Honouring our veterans & their sacrifices by uniting them with animals

Here at the Brant County SPCA we know that it doesn’t have to be November 11th for us to honour our Veterans. Their contributions to our freedom is something to be celebrated every single day and to show our support, we’re offering free adoptions for veterans through our newest program: Pets for Vets.

As of today, Veterans and active members of our military are able to adopt an animal from the Brant County SPCA with no adoption fees attached! We understand that health care (both mental and physical) is crucial to our Veterans. Many suffer combat related injuries and experience traumatic events that can affect them long term. Animals have the ability to help with stress, anxiety, loneliness and give us a level of companionship that is constantly nurturing. This program promotes these relationships.

Oftentimes animals come to our shelter afraid and timid. By creating a bond that benefits both Veterans and the animals that go home with them, it’s truly a win-win. Those interested in participating must provide proof of service (Military Service ID Card).

Amazing supporters like you help make our Pets for Vets program possible! By donating to this program you are helping to cover the fees associated to adopting an animal. Adoption fees help us vaccinate and spay/neuter animals before they leave for their forever homes. Your donation will make it possible for them to be adopted by our Veterans and active members of our military free of charge.
