New Animal Center Finds Home

On September 2nd 2020,

The City of Brantford and the Brant County SPCA announced the formalization of an agreement that will see the lands known as 10 Kraemer’s Way in Brantford provided to the BCSPCA to house a new Animal Centre. This facility will be 12,000 square foot which is almost 5 times larger than our current shelter!

The new Animal Centre will have animal adoption rooms, a community room, administration offices and an accessory veterinarian clinic. The veterinarian clinic will provide medical assistance, including a spay neuter program for animals in the care of the Brant SPCA. It will also serve as the home for a new Pets For Life program that will provide people living in under-served areas access to medical care for their pets. We are so grateful for this amazing gift and are so excited about this wonderful progress.

What’s Next?

We have completed the re-zoning and site plans and those plans have been circulated through the city for review. Once the site plan is approved our Building Committee will work with our architects to review the cost estimate in today’s values. Our architects will help write an RFP (Request for Proposal) and our goal is to have that submitted by the end of this year.

Our Capital Campaign Committee is actively working with existing and corporate donors in our community. We are currently in the quiet phase of our campaign and once we hit 60-75% of our goal, we will start campaigning to the public.
