Here’s some more information on this great event:

“We here at the Turtle Island News are inviting everyone and anyone to come out to our 10th annual Earth Day Festival, which promises to be our biggest and most excting festival yet! Free and open to the public, we have an exciting day planned this year. Held in our parking lot at the Turtle Island News annually, the festival focuses on a number of earth-friendly initiatives. We hand out thousands of free trees every year, so come early and get your tree! All of the trees we give away are indigenous to our climate and the Carolinian forest that surrounds us here in southern Ontario. Furthermore, there will be over 20 display booths, speeches by archeaologists, seed experts, cultural experts, a kids’ bouncy castle, kids’ activity booth, mascots, live raptors and animals to interact with, free bbq, and fabulous prizes! For the first time, we will also have a beautiful 100 per cent electric Nissan Leaf on display so you can check out how electric cars look and work. Please invite all your friends to our event, too! Rain or shine. We look forward to seeing you this Friday on Earth Day! Protect Mother Earth! Nia-weh! Miigwetch!”
