It’s National Volunteer Week in Canada and we would like to recognize the many dedicated volunteers who make our life-saving work possible.

Jack Pierce, pictured here holding Chewbacca, has been volunteering as a Cat Buddy since the fall of 2015. A few times each week Sam Haldane brings Jack to the shelter to spend some quality time with our feline friends. And the cats love every minute of it!

Jack became a volunteer simply because he loves animals and of course, cats are his favourite! He has a golden retriever named Karl and a cat named Penny at home and in his spare time Jack also volunteers at Brantwood Community Services.

Thank you to Jack and all of our Brant County SPCA Cat Buddies for providing such wonderful companionship to the cats in our care. You really make their stay with us more enjoyable and we know they look forward to your visits!
