Brantford council offers new options to help SPCA
City council is continuing to look for ways to help Brant County SPCA build a new animal control shelter but has shifted from its original offer to donate land and contribute a large sum to the project.
Councillors voted in favour Monday of having its major service contracts review study group meet with the SPCA to discuss three items:
– The SPCA purchasing the land at 10 Kraemer’s Way and building its own shelter.
– The city building or renovating space for a new animal control facility to be owned by the city and leased to the SPCA.
– Making alternative arrangements regarding the animal control program and a facility that would be mutually agreeable to both parties.
